gregpaul asked: If you're looking for some great brunch places besides Lokal (which i find a bit on the pricey side) near that area you should try Matchless Bar! Their brunch menu isn't quite as fancy but the food they have is excellent and the service is outstanding. Try their biscuits and gravy!

Good dining at (or near) Rock Center?
Family is coming to town for Thanksgiving and we’re going to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Thought it would be fun to walk over and see the rink and make a classic New York nite of it. Would love your recommendations for dining at Rock Center or in the area. Thanks!

One meal in San Francisco--where should it be?
I’ll be in San Fran (for the first time!) Saturday nite. What’s the one restaurant we must eat at?
I’ll also be able to have brunch and an early dinner Sunday, so throw those ideas to me as well!

Trocadero: Best Brunch in Milwaukee
Trocadero could not have been a better choice for the morning after. Not only did they have several inventive bloody marys, but a mojito menu, too! And the place is huge, so no need to throw ‘bows or wait in line for hours for the good stuff. Hmmm, now isn’t that nice? Check out the entire menu; it’s insane! I didn’t realize until later that it’s a sister...

Danji, Hell's Kitchen
Brisket bulgogi sliders; hwe dup-bop (spicy hamachi salad over sushi rice)
Korean tapas? I had no idea what that meant, but I couldn’t wait to find out at Danji, a newish 36-seat restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen. FYI, Korean tapas turn out to be absolutely delicious, so delicious that I can’t decide which dish was my favorite. I’m obsessed with this whole place, from the...

The Porch, Chelsea
Before summer could slip through my fingers, I took a day off work and headed to the High Line to explore. The park, stretching 20 city blocks on an abandoned elevated train track, is one of my favorite places in New York, but I don’t get over there nearly enough. I was pleasantly surprised to find tons of new food vendors, including The Porch, operated by Chelsea Market’s Green...

Mooncake Foods, Hell's Kitchen
Mooncake is my new favorite restaurant in my work neighborhood. The cafe is bright and minimalist, the prices are cheap, and the Asian comfort food is delicious. It’s all made from scratch and is as healthy as possible; there are no woks, fryers, or microwaves in the restaurant—a true feat for an Asian diner. Lucky for me, there’s also a Mooncake in my Soho...

Jozwiak's (Joe's Wax); Menominee, Michigan
Eating at all of the best restaurants in Manhattan will never compare to calling your grandparents on a Sunday afternoon
and telling them you want to take them out for pizza that nite.
Jumping in the car and making the hour long drive “up north” to share cheese curds
and a round of root beers
at a restaurant that advertises deer skins and cowboy boots on the place mats,

Hey New Yorkers: Free Food Today in Union Square!
Living Language, a new-and-improved language learning product rivaling Rosetta Stone, launched a brilliant marketing campaign today—a branded food truck giving away free bites to anyone who can say the food names right.
Yum-yums include grapefruit sorbet (sorbet au pamplemousse), watermelon and mint cooler (agua fresca de sandia y menta), flaky pastry (sfogliatelle), and pretzels with...

The Purple Pig, Chicago
Continuing on with my “Three Nites of Heaven in Chicago,” I feasted at the Purple Pig on Tuesday. It was love at first sight; the charming patio is tucked down a pedestrian alleyway, under a tent strung with twinkly lights. On a Tuesday nite by 6 pm, the entire place was packed. Dining alfresco on summer nites in the Midwest is hard to beat.
I knew I was in for a treat based...

Avec, Chicago
Three days, three dinners. I’m on a tour of Chicago’s arguably best restaurants (minus Alinea—off the list until I’m making bank).
Monday nite was Avec, a tiny wine bar with a big following. The place is so small that diners have to get up from the communal table benches—sometimes mid-bite—to let other patrons slip in. But it’s Chicago, and no one is...

Blue Crabs in Maryland: Crabbin' at Cantler's
Despite a cold and the 90 degree heat, my friend and DC dweller Pets told me we were going to take a day trip to Annapolis. To eat crabs.
Not wanting to back down from a culinary challenge, I grabbed my Sudafed and hopped in the car. After a 45 minute drive and a few near death experiences (kidding, kidding) we arrived at Cantler’s, a giant bar-restaurant hidden in a suburban...
