J.G. Melon, Upper East Side
This weekend was gorgeous, and what better way to celebrate a beautiful summer day than with an all-American summer meal. My friend Rena and I nabbed an outdoor seat at J.G. Melon, a classic, no-frills restaurant near Central Park. Although they’re famous for their hamburger, I opted for the barbeque chicken sandwich. Although tasty, I definitely had some food envy when Rena’s...

Lulu', NoLita--CLOSED
In the year that I’ve lived in this neighborhood, Lulu’ has quickly become one of my top four, if not favorite local restaurants. I don’t know if it’s the cozy atmosphere, the flickering candles, the generous waitstaff who’ll top off your glass just because, or the consistently delicious yet reasonably priced food. Actually, it’s all of the above. And to note,...

Blockheads, Upper East Side
Blockheads will always be one of my favorite restaurants in this city, and is probably the place I’ve frequented the most. It was even the site of my 23rd and 24th birthday celebrations. And an all you can drink mimosa brunch (including entree and chips...

Washington, DC Dining Roundup
I spent a delicious long weekend in DC. Here’s some of the evidence. Lauriol Plaza. The perfect place to make all of your happy hour dreams come true. Roof-top patio, incredible margarita pitchers, and yummy Mexican food. Although the food is standard, no-thrills Mexican, it hits the spot. The chips and salsa are above average. And the prices? Incredible! That whole plate above cost me...

Have you ever thought or uttered the phrase "blue...
Those words just popped into my head while I was ladling some dressing onto my salad. I probably shouldn’t be admitting this.

Route 66, Hells Kitchen
My friend Sara is a very healthy and particular eater, so when we had an event Sunday night wayyyyy over on 60th and basically the West Side Highway, I remembered this little diner/juice bar. It’s a cute neighborhood spot with healthy options and kitschy Americana memorabilia everywhere. Funny story: I ordered the mango salad, and didn’t realize it was sans mangoes until about five minutes in,...
