My Best Meals of 2010
Here are my Top Four Meals for 2010 (clockwise from top left):
The Commodore, New York
Orange, Chicago
Cochon, New Orleans
Torrisi Italian Specialties, New York
What makes a best meal? It’s the meals you can remember exactly what you ordered, and what every bite tasted like. It’s the meals you remember screaming “This is the best day of my life!” while you chowed...
Let's get interactive!
Hello my little chowers. As you might have noticed, I’ve changed up the format of Eat Your Chow. I love all the great advice my Tumblr followers give me, from restaurant recommendations to recipe restructuring. I’ve now enabled comments so it’s easier for all of my readers to interact, share, and help each other out.
Can’t wait to hear from you all. Let’s make 2011...

What I Found Wednesday: Andes Creme de Menthe...
Andes Creme de Menthe Cookies: Better than Thin Mints, trust me. I ate a whole box in four days. (“That’s 2,000 calories!” my sister generously calculated. Whoops.) More chocolaty, more minty, but only around for the holiday season. Get ‘em while you can.

Kroll's, Green Bay, Wisconsin
Kroll’s is a Green Bay institution, and one restaurant I must hit when I’m back home. I’ve never changed my order: butter cheeseburger (those white chunks in the middle of the burger are not onions), fried cheese curds, and a tall glass of root beer.
The homey diner never changes; it looks the same as it did when I was a kid. You seat yourself in round booths and ring the...

Christmas Recipes: Sweet Potato Casserole
This casserole could easily pass as dessert it’s so sweet. But when have I ever complained about that?! It’s delicious (in moderation!), simple to prepare, and now a permanent staple in my holiday feasts.
Click through for the recipe.
Ingredients
Filling:
2 large sweet potatoes
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp butter, softened

Christmas Recipes: Potato Terrine with Goat Cheese...
This was the first dish to sell out at our Orphans’ Thanksgiving (it’s the golden brown bubbly one right up front), brought to us by Mr. Tommy. He got to my apartment early and meticulously prepared this creamy, cheesy, chock-full-of-fresh-herbs delicacy, and it turned out to be absolute perfection. You can’t imagine how great my apartment smelled the entire way through this...

Cafe Un Deux Trois, Midtown
Right off Times Square, the French Cafe Un Deux Troisis a decent pre-theater dining destination. (Generous three course theater prix fixe for just $28!) It is also the location of one of my all time favorite New York moments.
The food is nothing extraordinary, although I only had the hamburger frites…and my very own extra large creme brulee. (Felt just like Kevin McCallister when that...

Barneys Holiday Windows: Have a Foodie Holiday
How could I not love Barneys’ window theme? All of the icons were there: The Revolutionaries (James Beard, Julia Child), the Boys (Anthony Bourdain, Bobby Flay), the Ladies (Rachel Ray, Martha Stewart—in Snuggies!), Illy Coffee (her dress made entirely of coffee cans), and paintings by Harlem school children, depicting their favorite chefs (all picked a family member).
I highly...

What I Found Wednesday: Laurel Hill Sea Salt and...
I love a snack that tastes healthy and delicious. These Laurel Hill chips have a great flavor that’s not overpowering, and taste much more natural than Tostitos lime chips. (More expensive too, but hey, sometimes it’s worth it.)
The chips are all natural, gluten free, and are made with only a handful of ingredients. Can’t wait to try the other flavors. Find ‘em at Whole...

Molly's Kitchen: Chocolate Mint Sandwiches
I’ve never been a huge mint chocolate fan, but last week, while sitting in bed eating a candy bar and drinking my peppermint tea, the inspiration for these cookies was born. They make a unique holiday treat; a spruced-up, homemade Thin Mint.
Click through for the recipe, tips, and more photos.
Warning: these cookies are high maintenance. Multiple steps mean you’ll be in the...

What I Found Wednesday: Harlow's Sweet and Hot...
Good lord, talk about flavor explosion. If you love caramel corn and spicy food, Harlow’s peppery-sweet popcorn is going to rock your world. Get it at Whole Foods (found mine at the Houston location) for $4 a 6 oz bag. A little spendy, but I promise it’s worth it. The popcorn is fresh, the flavor is intense, and if you’re not feeling that adventurous, there are a dozen other...

Eataly, Flatiron District
There were two things keeping me away from Mario Batali’s 50,000 square foot Italian food hall, which opened at the end of summer: 1.) crowds and 2.) gimmick. But a couple weeks ago I braved it all (and on a Friday nite!) and finally experienced Eataly.
And unfortunately, like I assumed, I wasn’t too impressed with my dinner at the Pizza/Pasta bar (restaurants are broken down by...
