Angelica Kitchen, East Village
I have several go-to healthy restaurants in New York that I eat at frequently (Candle Cafe, Spring Street Natural, and Josie’s), but last week I wanted to try some place new. Enter Angelica Kitchen. The space is cozy and relaxed, the food vegan and delicious, although it’s no Candle Cafe. I had the Marinated Tofu Sandwich: lemon herbed baked tofu layered with roasted vegetables, a...

3000 Miles 'Til Dinner →
snackgirl:
Please, pretty, pretty please follow my new blog where my chef mother-in-law posts recipe missions and both my sister-in-law and I attempt them. It’s brand new, so stay tuned for more missions. And while you’re at it cook along with my MIL!
You can even ask her a cookin’ question here.

And this beaut was from my roomie, from Dean and Deluca. I always thought I was a vanilla cake kinda girl, but after this round, I think I’ve changed my mind.

This is hilarious. Via DailyCandy:
Butch Bakery peddles big, boozy cupcakes with XY-approved patterns like camo, wood grain, and houndstooth. Manly flavors include rum-soaked Madagascar vanilla cake with cola Bavarian cream filling (Rum & Coke), chocolate beer cake with beer-infused buttercream and pretzels (Beer Run), and peanut butter cake with banana Bavarian cream and crumbled bacon.

Hot Pot at XO Cafe, Chinatown
New York’s trendy restaurant scene is a lot of fun, but this year I’m making an effort to try as many authentic ethnic restaurants as I can. I’ve lived on the cusp of Chinatown for almost two years now and feel pathetic that I’ve not taken proper advantage.
Thursday nite I was invited along to XO Cafe for hot pot, the Chinese version of fondue. Luckily I was with a cast...
