Where to Eat in Minneapolis
In addition to the new restaurants I want to try, I obviously have my favorite Minneapolis standbys. The places I frequented for four years, and still crave on an almost constant basis. Here are my must eats in Minneapolis.
The Local. When I moved to Minneapolis in 2002, my first downtown dining experience was at this Irish bar/restaurant. My freshman year roomie and I became obsessed with the rachel and fries. This will be the first thing I eat when I step foot in the minne-apple.
Pizza Luce. By far my favorite pizza in the city. Let me just tell you about “The Wrangler”: BBQ chicken, banana peppers, red onions, and mushrooms with cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on a BBQ/red sauce. Yes please!
Hell’s Kitchen. This downtown eatery makes the best peanut butter ever, plus a mean huevos rancheros. Always a hopping place for breakfast.
Sally’s. I can’t tell you how many hungover weekend lunches and all day/night happy hours on the patio I’ve had here. Hands down the best bar food I’ve ever had (mmmmmmm, those waffle fries!).

French Meadow Bakery. This place always feels like home. Incredible breakfasts and sandwiches, plus the best cinnamon rolls in the city! Sitting on the patio with a chai, an apple pancake, and the paper is one of life’s simple pleasures.

Figlio. My other favorite happy hour destination. The $3 happy hour (HA! Hear that, New York?) runs almost all day both Saturday and Sunday, and I’ve been craving the gorgonzola fries with tomatoes since I had them last, a year ago.
Chino Latino. One of Minneapolis’ more “edgy” restaurants, although its been around forever. Food from around the equator is served family style and always makes for a fun girls nite out.
Birchwood Café. The food tastes good and makes me feel good. Organic, mainly vegetarian fare that even my meat and potatoes dad will eat. Also the best key lime pie in the city.

Uptown Diner. Hands down best breakfast in the city. Can you say cajun breakfast and sticky pecan roll? I thought so.
