About

Eating my way through the Big Apple and around the world.

Always in favor of extraordinary flavor versus saving a few calories, I’m constantly seeking the best restaurants, recipes, and random little food finds. This blog chronicles my discoveries, most of which are located in New York City, the foodie heaven I am fortunate to call home.

After living in Manhattan for five years, I finally made the move to Brooklyn (Greenpoint) at the end of 2011. I could not be more excited to discover and devour all the great eats in my new borough. (Recommendations very welcome!)

I take my photos with a point-and-shoot Canon PowerShot SD850. Which goes to show that if you're passionate about photography but can't afford fancy camera equipment, you can still take quality photos.

Norma’s, Midtown

Norma’s in the Parker Meridien is constantly called one of the best breakfasts in New York. But it’s also imperative that you have an expense account (there’s a $1000 frittata on the menu for crying out loud)…OR that your mom is in town. Lucky for me, I got a little mommy love last weekend. All I can say is come back soon mother dearest!

The meal starts with a free shot of their smoothie of the day. This was strawberry orange.

Crepes Suzette. We were trying to be “healthy” and ordered one with fruit.

Breakfast dumplings, stuffed with scrambled eggs, mushrooms, and shrimp. This isn’t something I would normally order, but they turned out to be my favorite dish.

This crunchy french toast with caramel sauce was pretty heavenly, too. Just look at that goo pool! The bottom line: everyone should splurge (in more ways than one) at Norma’s at least once.
