About

Eating my way through the Big Apple and around the world.

Always in favor of extraordinary flavor versus saving a few calories, I’m constantly seeking the best restaurants, recipes, and random little food finds. This blog chronicles my discoveries, most of which are located in New York City, the foodie heaven I am fortunate to call home.

After living in Manhattan for five years, I finally made the move to Brooklyn (Greenpoint) at the end of 2011. I could not be more excited to discover and devour all the great eats in my new borough. (Recommendations very welcome!)

I take my photos with a point-and-shoot Canon PowerShot SD850. Which goes to show that if you're passionate about photography but can't afford fancy camera equipment, you can still take quality photos.

Central Park Boathouse, Upper East Side
Talk about iconic New York restaurants. I’ve been dying to go to The Boathouse for a long time, too, but just got around to it. Having visitors in town was the perfect excuse.
I don’t know if there is a more romantic, pristine setting in the whole city. I absolutely loved dining right on the lakeside patio, watching row boaters and gondolas come and go. The ambience was definitely my favorite part of the meal, but the food was nothing to scoff at. Although nothing extraordinary, everything was well done. I had the pan-roasted Florida snapper in cabbage and a lemongrass vinaigrette. Also had to snap a pic of my sister’s french fry tower! I would love to come back again for brunch, although the price—while not outrageous—doesn’t make this your everyday stopping place.
Here’s a cheesy shot for you. Sorry, it’s the only one I have that’ll give you an idea of the magnificant setting.
