Kroll’s, Green Bay, Wisconsin
Kroll’s is a Green Bay institution, and one restaurant I must hit when I’m back home. I’ve never changed my order: butter cheeseburger (those white chunks in the middle of the burger are not onions), fried cheese curds, and a tall glass of root beer.
The homey diner never changes; it looks the same as it did when I was a kid. You seat yourself in round booths and ring the table’s buzzer when you’re ready to order. Buttery burgers cost just $3.85 and are delivered wrapped in paper. If you really want to splurge, don’t miss the milkshakes.
All this and right across the street from Lambeau Field. Can’t get any more Green Bay than that!
