About

Eating my way through the Big Apple and around the world.

Always in favor of extraordinary flavor versus saving a few calories, I’m constantly seeking the best restaurants, recipes, and random little food finds. This blog chronicles my discoveries, most of which are located in New York City, the foodie heaven I am fortunate to call home.

After living in Manhattan for five years, I finally made the move to Brooklyn (Greenpoint) at the end of 2011. I could not be more excited to discover and devour all the great eats in my new borough. (Recommendations very welcome!)

I take my photos with a point-and-shoot Canon PowerShot SD850. Which goes to show that if you're passionate about photography but can't afford fancy camera equipment, you can still take quality photos.

Argo Tea Cafe, Midtown

After telling my friend Devin that tea was one of my “life things” (as he later quoted), he suggested we meet for a tea party at Argo Tea. If you’re also a tea lover, you must check out this Chicago-based chain. Think Starbucks but only tea, and with a modern twist.

Many, many signature tea cocktails—fruity juices and rich, milky lattes—and even more loose teas. Too many to count! After careful consideration I went with the strawberry green tea, with hints of vanilla.

They brew the tea for you so it is perfectly seeped, and the cup comes sans tea bag. My tea wasn’t anything unusual, but it was a fun experience, the company seems to have a great mission, and the space is conducive for out-of-office working (quiet and free Wi-Fi!). If you want a super awesome concoction, don’t miss the seasonal ValenTea Passion drink. I had a sample and it was delish!
