Washington, DC Dining Roundup
I spent a delicious long weekend in DC. Here’s some of the evidence.

Lauriol Plaza. The perfect place to make all of your happy hour dreams come true. Roof-top patio, incredible margarita pitchers, and yummy Mexican food. Although the food is standard, no-thrills Mexican, it hits the spot. The chips and salsa are above average. And the prices? Incredible! That whole plate above cost me $10!

Montmartre. This French bistro in Pets’ Capitol Hill neighborhood was a cute place for a lazy Saturday brunch. I had a buckwheat crepe with spinach, tomatoes, swiss, and smoked salmon. It was tasty and gigantic! My favorite thing about this restaurant is its sunny yellow wall, but being a fool, I totally forgot to take a picture.

Leopold’s Kafe. For Saturday evening drinks and appetizers, Jules introduced us to Leopold’s in Georgetown. Hidden down a back alley, the courtyard patio was the perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy a couple nice glasses of wine. I would love to come back and try a full meal.

Cafe 8. I think this was my favorite dining experience of the trip. A block over from Pets’ house is this great Mediterranean restaurant. From the outside it doesn’t look like much, but the food was incredible, including the best hummus OF MY LIFE, served with perhaps the best pitas of my life. I also tried falafel for the first time. Yes, I live in NYC. No, I am not a hermit.
Other dining excursions included:
Peregrine Espresso: just a few options, but each one served to perfection.
Matchbox: the apple-pear-pecan salad is to die for.
Marvelous Market: best chai in DC!
